To be fair this has a couple of bangers on it - 'Do You' and another one I can't remember the name of right now.
Overall very meh for me but I get it.
EDIT: the other tune is 'Inside Out'

I'd expect nothing less than a 4 from these guys, although I don't think they've released anything truly iconic or genre defining yet. Although let's be honest, very few bands have that capability and secondly, for their style they may not even have that ambition, nothing wrong with just making some in depth catchy rock music without a deeper calling.

Yeah I've never felt that Spoon are iconic or even truly essential or anything, they're just a class act who make some incredibly good rock records - and despite what many people on sites like this think, there's nothing wrong with that.

"I Just Don't Understand" is a low point yeah but it's still solid. Plus it's a cover so the band can't take all the credit for it being weak.

tbh take your pic of Girls Can Tell, Kill the Moonlight, or Gax5 for "iconic" imo

Hot Thoughts is one of the best Spoon songs I've heard. And I've pretty much heard 'em all.
