Lea Michele's first album "Louder" was such a hit. The album was about inspiration and her trying to be strong during her rough and devastating time with her boyfriend Cory Monteith's Death. It's understandable why she's so thrilled. She has been doing her songs on Broadway and "Glee". It's time for her to step out and do her own thing.
"Cannonball" is about overcoming obstacles and to empower. It's an anthemic pop song with trying to rise above life with a nice beat. It's co-written with Sia and her lead single. "On My Way'' is about returning to someone who's not right for you. She starts out with a slow vocal then gets into a club-oriented type of style. Intoxications to love run throughout the song. " Burn With You " is Lea having love on her mind. Cory Monteith's favorite was this song. It's about two lovers who may not be right for each other. It starts off slow and folk-like then turns into slow and warbled."Battlefield " is about falling in love, breaking hearts and how hard it is to let go. It's a nice ballad where Michele shows a lot of vocal restraint. "You're Mine" sounds like a low type of Broadway song then leads into a musically complex style. It's a mid-tempo hazy beat with Lea's soaring vocals and the subtle orchestra. "Thousand Needles" is with more pain, more exhaustion and more sorrow. It's the darkest sounding song on the album. It's a low- key percussion and shows a dramatic image as to why losing someone is like a thousand needles in your heart. "Louder" is about overcoming adversity. It's a fun and a deeply enjoyable song. "Cue The Rain" is about soul-searching and with growing apart in an relationship. It shows a range a pop styles that really work with her voice. "Don't Let Go" is another mid-tempo pop song where imagery is flying high like a kite and never letting go. "Empty Handed" is about letting someone love you. It's a slow -building piano pop rock tune. "If You Say So" is a song about Cory Monteith's death and how his last words were : If you say so. It's a devastating piano ballad that feels very personal.
Lea Michele did a wonderful job on this album. It really shows her struggle and how she's trying to get through it and overcome it. Her vocals really show pain, sadness and strength. You would really be able to feel the songs as she's singing.

The Glee star manages to avoid the "awful" label many celebrities receive when doing a music record....

Definitely wouldn't give this a 4, as much as I think this was much better than I expected. My review on this explains it pretty well.

Could improve, but it's okay.
