The Hunter was a good album when it first came out. I jammed it a lot, I still like a number of songs. But it just feels like a Mastodon side project so I think of it as such. This one, on the other hand, is a bit different, more consistent and coherent. Both, though are below all the other albums, except of Remission, that I'm still not fond of.

listen to Remission more because it rules just as hard as any other Mastodon album

I appreciate it for what it is, but don't really get it. Still, I like about 3 or 4 songs off of it, but the rest are (or at least were, the last time I heard it) a bit meh for me.
