My problems: Tom Morello and Rakim's pointless guest spots, stale production, some cringeworthy lyrics, Chester Bennington's vocals aren't exactly up to par, and the replay value just isn't there anymore.
Still, I enjoy this a lot and I'm excited for their next album.

Actual criticisms:
nothing lyrically here worth hearing I FUCK UPEVERTHING I SAYAUYAAY
"raw" is not raw it's just them turning up the gain knob a bit on their guitar
vocal effect in the beginning of keys to the kingdom is stupid
boring song arrangement
|
| |
all for nothing sounds like a shitty nofx sum 41 song with raps
|

|
| |

|
| |

They recorded/produced solely by Mike and Brad but it's brick walled even harder than any of their albums produced by Rick Rubin which is fuckin strange.
While the album is still really good, they really should have went all the way through with this change and completely ditch their roots because they genuinely could have put out something more radical than what they were aiming for (although now that I think about it more, it's probably the record label who forced them to keep some semblance accessibility). I really hope they go further with this sound on the new album or I'm still going to be bitter about Rob not recording a blast beat for a LP song because as he shows on this album he's perfectly capable of doing one now that he's grown so much as a drummer

summoning is probably the best song on this thing

""raw" is not raw it's just them turning up the gain knob a bit on their guitar" [2]
Tho I'll give them credit where credit is due I'd rather hear them with the gain slightly up than whatever the fuck living things is

*Their 5 albums before
Like, giving credit where credit is due. The bassist is audible on this album in places so
|

chill dude it's a joke lmao
but i mean it is a legitimate point that if you aren't that used to raw sounds you call things that aren't raw "raw" as an exaggeration or misunderstanding.

I mean ala did it so it's pretty clearly a joke
Not a funny one but still

read the edit at t he bottom
and yes it's a joke i don't really give a shit about what you think of a meh band tbh. i just think you're exaggerating with the "raw" statement and honestly your music experience may or may not have to do with that. Most of the albums you've 5'd are "raw" from a pop standpoint but not much else. When you see a correlation like that you point it out. So it was a joke but also a point. No trolling.
