I don't understand what's so special about this album. I find it generic and boring, altough The Trooper, To Tame a Land and Flight of Icarious are stand-outs (but the chorus on Flight sucks).

i have just listened 2 this album again after ages and have to say how much better than NOTB it is. revelations has got 2 be 1 of maidens best songs. the only bad song on the album is quest for fire which is utter shite (1/5 at best) other than that, amazing

This is the only Maiden album I own right now (though I plan to get many more...). Its a great metal album. Why so much critisizm towards "Quest for fire" I think that song is pretty cool... anyways my favorite track from the album is "Still Life".

Why does everyone like this one so much again? Trooper/Tame/Flight are the only great songs on here, everything else is just decent.

Listened to this and Number of the Beast a few times each over the weekend. I'm beginning to think this is a bit better.

Well, Trooper/Tame/Flight are indeed the great songs here, also great are Revelations, Still Life, Where Eagles Dare and Die With Your Boots on. Only THEN the rest are decent.

This is my least favourite album from Iron Maiden from their debut up to Seventh Son. The Trooper, Flight Of Icarus, Revelations and Die With Your Boots On are great; the rest is okay I guess

Drags on a bit too long in the middle though.

I just find this boring compared to most of Iron Maiden's albums

I'd say this one's about on par with the Beast and a notch above Powerslave.

How overrated is this? Christ.

Number of the Beast is a bit overrated, to me, because of the lack of a really great song, even though the CD stays very good throughout. This one is all over the place. Revelations and Quest For Fire are just laughable, and Flight Of Icarus is iffy. Also sounds like the band was listening to a little too much 70's nerd rock when they wrote DWYBO.

Thank god for Trooper and TTAL.

Revelations is cool, Flight is real cheesy but still great, but Quest for Fire is my personal worst Maiden track of all time.

And about NOTB, it's greatness all the way through bar some 'good' moments (The Prisoner, Gangland). And it has their best song, what more do you want?
