You mean in general or to play this? I mean you could down tune a 7 like the band does but I prefer the tension and smaller gauged strings on an 8 for down tuning. But yeah even I think 8 is too much in general, wouldn't have got one but it was too good a deal to pass up and its super fun to chug on.
