I'm a big fan o' "Woke Up New" + "If You See Light" tho

Definitely has grown on me, but I still feel it's not quite as good as Knife Man or People Who...

definitely their most consistent, although none of the songs can match some of the ones from their last three.

This keeps me pretty entertained on a musical level; the variety of melodies, instruments and textures are nice. The lyrics are much more cryptic, but I enjoy that for the most part. Still weird, so I'm gonna jam this a while.

big thing for me is a lack of introspection in the lyrics, a lot of the songs sound like less punk-y versions of Gift Of The Magi 2 lyric-wise; meaningless, albeit fun, shock value.

there's more introspection in this record than in any of the previous records imo. it's more nuanced for sure

I'm very disappointed with this album. I liked the previous three so much better. This is a huge drop in quality after Knife Man.

I can get down with that. I think that they are being less obvious in their message and that's a sign of maturity; it is definitely more artful in some ways albeit annoying to some fans. The lyrics are more of a book of surrealist images.
