Haha, yeah you're probably in the same place as my younger brother. He's been jamming the tunes I showed him all the way thru high school while his friends are rocking Pitbull and Flo-Rida.
It's ok you found a place to exist here. Honestly, unless you're in a band, it's really not that common to find ppl into a wide variety of underground music at any age.

I was in a band for a while, but my interest in doom metal kind of shook it up and now that's over. Everyone I know who wants to start a band either wants to play 80s hard "rock" (which I hate), nu-metal, or Metallica (only stuff from the Black Album too). So yeah, haven't found much. But, I've taken up guitar and by next year I'll be writing my own music hopefully.

I'm currently only 14. I plan to go down a path of progressive, heavy, experimental kind of stuff. Maybe like Swans, Neurosis, Rush, and Flaming Lips melded kind of thing. Sounds strange, but who knows.
