Since the Day is my favorite, but you can't go wrong with any of the first 3

Yeah Since the Day is their best, heavy on awesome riffs but also heavy on acoustic breakdowns and more doomy sections. That album is flawless.

imo the cleans on Across the Dark are miles better than Ville's due to both the production and skill

agreed they are better here than on One for Sorrow but i still would rather they be left out or

replaced with a better singer, preferably the former

Pains me to say but Im in total agreement with our resident Captain. I was hoping the album would of grown on me by now but Im still finding the riffs flat and uninteresting. And any time Ville starts singing it pulls me right out of the music, very bothersome.

Feels like a lobsided album too, first four tracks I actually consider very serviceable (Im starting to really dig Black Heart Rebellion) but after that (bar the River) it sadly becomes an exercise in tedium.

One of. It doesn't surpass 'Since the Day...', but it's still such a great album.

Agreed with CaptainDooRight, this album gets too repetitive and drags way too much. A big disappointment for me. I love Revelations and Black Heart Rebellion though

Seems to be a pretty divisive album. I'll check the first three out and eventually work my way here if I like them

Above the Weeping World is easily their best. Too bad they'll never come close to that level again

After listening through the album about 5 times now, I have to say I like this album more than One for Sorrow, but less than Across the Dark. And this album doesn't even come close to the greatness that is their first three albums.

After listening to the entire album three times now, I have to say this has my vote for best metal album of 2014 so far. I think it is simply amazing. This album destroys the last one. The River, The Promethean Song, and Shadows of the Dying Sun are so good.

I had to lover my rating to a 3.5 after the second listen. The few standout moments doesn't make up for the more stale moments which there are a lot of.

Pretty solid, not quite sold on it yet though, hope it'll grow on me.
