Nice review. Casey does have a large creative influence on this record as he does all of the programming and the theatrical feel is akin to The Dear Hunter, but the meat of the lyrics were written by Brendan Brown. Casey added to what Brown wrote and the drummer Andrew Cook also wrote a little bit too though a lot less than the other two.

Thanks man, I thought Casey wrote the bulk of it though? I know that they both contributed but I thought Casey wrote the majority

I didn't figure he had that much input since he was only with them for a couple of years. Plus, their second album is about just as good as this songwriting wise, so I would like to think the rest of the band is pretty talented, too.

Oh yeah I was talking lyrically though. Obviously the band were all very talented and great songwriters but I thought on this album the lyrics were mainly his

Okay well this how I understand it from interviews I've read, Brendan Brown wrote the basis of the lyrics, then Casey added to them and/or changed them, so it is very possible that there ended up being more Casey lyrics on there but yeah I would have thought from that situation the actual ideas would more be Brown's.
This is a really cool interview where Brown talks about this and a lot of TREOS stuff. Mostly about the second record though.

That link won't load :/
interesting concept though, I can see how that would work. Some of the lyrics just have to be Casey's though because they're such utterly poetic bollocks
eg
"Someone find my maker I'm coming apart at the seams/I'll cauterise myself back together again"

Yeah they're both quite talented poets really. It sucks that the link won't load it's super
interesting stuff.
Also: pretty sure any time the word extremities comes that's Casey haha.

What are your guys favourite songs from this album? Mine would have to This Armistice just the climax at the end is brilliant and the little guitar parts throughout that just repeat each other are great. The weakest song for me would have to Broadcast Quality I still love it but I just don't enjoy it as much as the rest, not sure why...
