Yeaaaaaaaaaah

My insta-5 on the new one may not hold but I'm confident that it's at least a 4.5

I like this band's idea or premise. Like, it sounds good but I feel like the music hasn't really found itself yet. It kind of feels pedestrian. I'm always waiting for something to climax or wow me but it doesn't happen. I prefer Slave Ambient to this. This one seems a bit too edgy.

I just for the first time noticed the massive Dire Straits influence too. Hard to believe I missed that before.

Unfortunately they seem to be getting even worse with the new record. It's like Bruce Springsteen worship x100.

This band for me is more all about the overall feeing of the songs and luxuriating in the meticulousness of the sound layering (which is anything but pedestrian) than about individual moments or climaxes; not that their music is entirely devoid of amazing moments (the climax of Strangest Thing being a case in point).

About once a year I try to listen to this album again and see if I'll get it this time. I still don't. Love the instrumentals but the vox just bore me to death.

It's almost uncanny how much this singer sounds like Bob Dylan

Who wouldnt. Money is money and artists arent strictly defined by what they do within the confines of their music.
