Well done! I really relate to what you said on the first paragraph. Bands like Issues, Asking Alexandria, Motionless in White, Bring me the Horizon, etc. Make me feel like when your grandpa complains about your "awful" music haha. I don't know if it's because of my age, but I just don't get the music nowadays kids listen to. Why? I don't know, maybe it's got something to do with the cheesy synths, or the emphasis on looks over talent (I'm pretty sure these guys spend more time on their hairdos than on their guitar riffs for example), or maybe I'm too old (I was born in '89) and I haven't realized me and my musical tastes are no longer relevant or 'hip'. Whatever it is, I must admit i just don't 'get' this music. This music is more akin to New Kids on the Block than it is to Refused, Zao or hell, even Underoath or Thursday.
So yeah, nice review, I totally agree

"Tyler Carter is essentially Johnny Craig through a computer minus the songwriting ability."

I would actually argue that Tyler is a better songwriter than Jonny seeing as Tyler can actually write a catchy melody and can write his own lyrics. But overall I can definitely see where you're coming from... good review, even though I disagree with most of your points.

"can actually write a catchy melody"

except dance gavin dance didn't seem to be going for the whole "catchy" thing on DBM so to say jonny isn't as good because he wasn't writing catchy melodies is just redundant
