Of Ulver? Nah man, I only liked their "pop" album from 2017 and that's about it really.
Some of the early black metal stuff is alright, but I am no fan of anything in between.

Ah, thought you must be a fan having heard this & not liking Sunn O))).
|
| |
Ah no not even close. I would imagine my liking for only Ulver's 2017 album would infuriate most people lol.
I just happen to be a completionist when it comes to discogs.

@Dungeonboy
You can admittedly take my evaluation of that album with a huge pinch of salt as I haven't heard it for a decade
@bloc
Fair enough, I don't even always complete dicogs for artists I love, or it takes me an unreasonable length of time to do so anyway.

Damn, you only like their worst stuff.

How can you not like SotS, PC, or Messe

I've been on a warpath for the last year, flying through albums at work like it's nobody's business. Of course, I am not listening to a single band's discog all in one shot, more like one album per band a day kind of thing.
Ah true, I forgot about SotS, I like that album too.

Wth didn't even know this existed...

It's an okay album. I'm a huge fan of this era Ulver but this one kind falls short. Worth a listen, but at the end of the day it's pretty unremarkable for me unfortunately.

'I've been on a warpath for the last year, flying through albums at work like it's nobody's business'
I'm longing for my past memories where it didn't occur to me that people could feasibly listen to music constantly (or near enough) at work. The pain & jealousy is just too much to take.

I'm really grateful that at my first full-time job I can listen to music all day; jamming Slowdive atm
|
| |
When I started my office job, I went for 6 months without listening to anything. God, how I regret that now.
It's not even that I missed the music out of enjoyment, but because the backlog on my pc is fuckin huge and I need to get through it to see what's good and what ain't and free up some HD storage space. Once that's done I can use a finer comb and see if I truly like what I kept.

My work is old school, reckon they wouldn’t let me because I have a phone (which I use maybe twice a day) & never seen anyone else do it, they probably wouldn’t want me to upset the balance. People are allowed radios but it has to be very quiet & inoffensive. Not sure I could just jam my own stuff, especially not with headphones.
|
| |
Dude I feel ya. At work I listen to music with just one earphone. Lord knows I have missed a dozen guitar riffs that are hard panned to the right lol.
I've tried to figure out how to get the sound output to be mono, but I never found a way.
|
| |
Oh man, that sounds like a pain. I’ve just thought, a small iPod speaker may do the trick, would be like having the radio on & I’d only jam ambient/post-rock/electronic music (or something).
|
| |
Pfft, good luck staying awake with that boring ass shit
|
| |
Depends which part of that you have issue with, Sigur Ros or Boards of Canada would fit this description & I love/like stuff like that.
|
| |
I guess BoC is alright. I would like them more if they were actually Canadian.

BoC have one of the worst names of any musical group ever tbh but their music is top-tier
|
| |
Yeah never understood the whole using a location that isn’t where you’re actually from thing. Same with of Montreal & Architecture in Helsinki (for example)... and I’m aware where the first one comes from but its still a sucky name.
