'walking slowly down the hall, faster than a cannonball'
might be the single worst line ever written. the guy's a good tunesmith but it's obvious he doesn't give a shit about lyrics

The worlds still spinning round we don't know why, why why why why.
The last pre internet, pre pop idol, true, globe stomping, headline grabbing, swaggering, 'rock n roll band'
Sigh.

I still to this day can't stand Blur's attempts at being 'lads' with tunes like Girls And Boys and Parklife. They only come into their own when they moved on with 'Blur' and '13' for me.

There was a time 95-96 where in the UK Oasis love em or hate em (I hated em) were bigger than Jesus.
Nothing has come anywhere close in 20yrs and the music didn't really play a part. The banter, tales, fights, booze and all the rest of it literally shaped the yoof culture of Britain. No wonder we're all such complete arseholes.

Oh yeah and Primal Scream.
Vanishing Point is one of the best records of that mid 90s era.

Screamadelica along with the Stone Roses debut were the ones everyone said were classics back then, it's undoubtedly a belter but hasn't aged well like a lot of UK nineties stuff.
The Stone Roses debut >

The Holy Bible and The Stone Roses debut are two of my all time favourite LP's no question. The Holy Bible is a very different beast to Oasis and Blur though. Everything Must Go has the Oasis vibe I guess though, and that is also an incredible album.

This would be a solid 5 were it not for "She's Electric"

She's Electric is enjoyable enough, but would 100% replace it with any of the b-sides they released at the same time, I'd also swap Hey Now for one of the B-sides too. Even then, it's still a 5.
