I'm just gonna copy/paste my comment from the 10,000 Days thread, as it still explains why I have that one at a 4 and not any higher:



"I still stand by what I said earlier, which is that the Wings for Marie and Rosetta Stoned suites should have been swapped. Having Wings for Marie so early on is really detrimental to the flow of the album, as the rest of the tracklist feels so much more anticlimactic"

Honestly, I like the Wings placement. Feels like a Side A climax heading into Side B of the record.

Make it 8 songs and drop some transitions and its a very different conversation IMO, but 10k days simple does not earn an hour and fifteen minute runtime. Fifty to fifty-five minutes would have worked much much better. Also Rosetta Stoned is poop

semi-hard disagree. I genuinely couldn't imagine Wings pt. 1 being anywhere other than track three. Two heavy bangers and then a beautiful track that starts mellow really keeps you on your toes in a good way. The whole Wings suite starting after Rosetta Stoned would make the album sound more lopsided than it already is.



That said, I could sort of see Pt 2 moved later on in the album to create more of an epic close to the album, like after Intension. Love both pt 1 and pt 2 but I don't see any significant reason for them to be back to back

no they need to be juxtaposed, it’s one song in two parts. wings for marie builds into 10000 days. a reprise could be cool, could make it the central melody of the album
