This band is like an entitled-fanboy magnet... I'm almost glad they haven't made music in over a decade, the fanbase's relentless baby rage proves to me we truly don't deserve anything and the band owes us nothing.

It's really good, less grandiose and histrionic than the last few. It's darker, sounds more like art rock and post-rock than prog.

Music to my ears. They really needed to do something more introspective. I'm really looking forward to hearing it, and I'm seeing them live later in the summer so that'll be sick too!

Agreed Ocean, and that sounds like it'll be great.
Alternative 4 is indeed awesome. I've also found A Fine Day to Exit to be underrated, maybe just because it came after their masterpiece Judgement.

When I was a kid the ending of Triad used to scare the piss out of me. It still unnerves me a bit...

Same with me. The hype didn't really grasp me yet but now I'm starting to really feel it

It's pretty hilarious that almost the whole page is talking about Anathema in a Tool thread. Either way, it actually is pretty good, keep your hype.

A new Anathema album is always enough to keep the hype up, it's not even a matter of how good it actually is hahah. The band has accompanied my life for quite some time now, as has Tool, so I can't really complain about this discussion taking place in a Tool thread. Nice to see a certification that the fan bases largely overlap despite the many differences between the bands

Hahahah, yeah I was actually about to make some allusion to the (non-)state of the new Tool album, but I refrained :D

Seeing Tool play Governor's Ball was unreal, especially seeing Parabol/Parabola and Schism

Saw them in Mtl on the 2nd.
Was sitting there, waiting for the show to start, thinking to myself how cool it would be if they started with The Grudge
When those opening notes hit HOLY FUCK MAN
