No but I did see the guy from there is in this band too so plan on checking them out. Which album would you recommend starting with?

Wish they had a few more ambient parts in instead of the contant wall-o-noise though

Constant wall of noise can work as long as the melodies or amelodic structures change often enough to keep things interesting. One of my biggest problems with metal (despite loving it) is that way too many groups drag out ideas long beyond the point they are interesting.

@vakarian, damn check paysage they rule. I'd recommend starting with winterkaelte just cause that's the album that got me

into them. Their whole discog is pretty good though

@lion

agreed and I think that is an issue I had with this. There were alot of interesting parts but alot of the time the wall of noise would outstay its welcome and drag on a bit. Only heard it twice though so opinion can always change

@atari

sweet, will do. Do they play similar stuff to this? judging from the album art it's looks like they'd play more folky stuff

Well I wouldn't really describe them as folky, they prolly have more ambient sections than this band though. They basically make winter black metal their name means landscape of winter ;)

Paysage is ambient black metal (so same genre as this) except the atmosphere is completely different. This is space, Paysage is winter.

Both equally intense though when things get rolling, although I'd say Darkspace is better at the ambient parts and Paysage is better with black metal.

Darkspace can still bust out some riffage though. Both bands rule.
