he really doesn't have that big of an ego imo, he basically just thinks of himself as one of the

only real hip hop artists left, saying hes bringing back real hip hop involves a lot of humility in

that he is constantly paying homage to hip hop pioneers, thats something Kanye isn't capable of

doing cuz he actually has his fans convinced hes a unique artist and not a copycat publicity-whore

hack.



i find nothing wrong with his 'me against the world' mentality when you take a glance at the state

of hip hop today, i wish more rappers would call out all the bullshit in rap today, that is what

made the golden age what it was, if you acted like a fool you would get thrown off stage, literally.

If you bit you would bite the curb, literally. People are taking hip hop like a joke today, its

refreshing that hopsin actually gives a fuck and isn't just trying to cash in.



If there were more rappers like him willing to speak their mind and embarrass rappers who got out of

line, hip hop would gain as a whole. But I do get why people don't like him, hes pretty negative in

a way.

that song about his friend succumbing to drug addiction was really sad

god damn i swear you guys will brand any music with any type of message whatsoever as "preachy" and "pretentious"

i thought this guy was like a satire project for a while and then i realized he was serious and i laughed even harder

it's not about the message though. it's the presentation. and this guy's is way too in-your-face for
my liking. he doesnt even try to be subtle, which just makes him come across as immature and
corny.

wouldn't call him pretentious, though, but preachy? yeah maybe. but the first word that jumps into my
head when someone mentions Hospin is... annoying

well, different strokes for different folks i suppose. I like how confrontational he is, I think trying to
promote a socially conscious message in hip hop by alluding to it or using more subtle "the moral of the
story is" type of methods have been done to death already.

hopefully the last part made sense, Hopsin does tell stories with morals but other rappers tell really
impersonal, almost cliched tales of dudes getting shot riding their bikes and shit. lmao.

There are different kinds of confrontational though. There's "the world around me is fucked but I don't have all the answers so I vent my frustration through art" and there is feeling like you're being scolded by your parents. Hopsin is the latter.

really funny seeing people worship Kanye like a legend and then they call out other music for being

'immature, corny, and annoying'....

Thats just dumb dude, he raps about the world around him almost exclusively and his dad wasn't even

around to raise him and his mom was too busy to really raise him, stop acting like hes being

melodramatic, he has a lot of substantial shit to rap about.
