The technique/what-they’re-playing is delectable too to me haha, I’m immediately hooked with that “see no evil” riff

I mean it can happen in post-hxc, especially mathier or progressive leaning variants, but for the time this was probably impressive enough. It certainly doesn’t NEED virtuoso performances. It’s great as it is.
