Personally I prefer this one but Burning Sky>>>>>>anything on here.

Burning Sky is one of their best epics for sure, Dark Matter and this album's t/t too

Radioactive Toy too though, that song is so often forgotten, but it's pretty damn great. And it was one of their best songs to see live, works perfectly as an encore

You know what would be great to hear live from them?
Linton Samuel Dawson.

Apparently they have done it before many, many years ago but I cannot imagine SW singing into a microphone sounding like... that.
Pretty good song though

Ya. pretty sure SW did it a lot in the 90's (Linton Samuel Dawson..LSD!) pretty sure it was intentional to say the least.

Based on how the song is like, yeah. Couldn't agree more.

@Torontonian I like UtD, but I don't think it's even close to this one. At first, when I knew nothibng about PT, it took this one to make me love them. Their first two only had Radioactive Toy and Burning Sky....

the last phase of sky moves sideways is my fave
perfect for sitting under the stars and feeling overwhelmed at your insignifigance
|

This and Up the Downstair are pretty much level for me (as the only great PT albums).

"Their first two only had Radioactive Toy and Burning Sky...."
Do you mean back when you first heard them or do you still feel that way?

utd > this yea fight me

For how much I loved In Absentia and Deadwing, you'd think those wouldn't be the only two Porcupine Tree albums I've heard.
Considering that I adore both of those albums along with the newest Steven Wilson album, where should I go next?

@SowingSeason
Lightbulb Sun.
|
| |
Does it compare to the albums I mentioned?
|

Well, Fear of a Blank Planet + The Incident compare best to the ones you just mentioned but LS does have its
heavier moments and is their best IMO. I started with IA + Deadwing too but LS blew me away and has been my
favourite ever since. It's kind of like a bridge between their early albums and later.
