This album is amazing... not quite sure how this band could be seen as a "joke" when their new album was still very solid.

I hope you're referring to Black Clouds, because Dramatic Turn of Events was extremely immature

Wasn't immature, just kinda underwhelmed

And yes, the t/t on this brought it down A LOT

Disappear and Glass Prison tho m/

No, it was immature. I like the album more than Systematic Chaos though.

Explain how immature, I get you as far as Build Me Up and Far From Heaven are concerned, and maybe Beneath the Surface a little bit, but not as a whole

A very ambitious album indeed, and although some songs suffer slightly from unnecessary repetition, it is more than made up for with the brilliance of 'The Glass Prison' and 'War inside my Head'.

The Glass Prison, Blind Faith and Solitary Shell are great.

You hope I was referring to Black Clouds because you think ADTOE is immature? I like both albums a lot but if you're going to call ADTOE immature then you have to call BC&SL immature as well. You have heard the lyrics right? Easily the weakest of any Dream Theater album, but let's be honest, DT is not the strongest band when it comes to lyrics.

The only song I'd consider "immature" on ADTOE is Build Me Up Break Me Down which is a pretty awful song that I haven't listened to since the week I bought the album. The rest of the album is great, not spectacular by any means, but a solid effort from a band who had recently lost what many felt was the heart and soul of DT. Just don't say that on the DT forums (which I visit regularly), because people are still in denial over there that the band is way worse off without Portnoy.

When I said weakest of any DT album I mean in the lyrical department, just to clarify. I actually loved BC&SL.

ADToE brings the lols by jumping around between themes without any consideration to the structure of the song.

Black Clouds at least sounds badass, even if the lyrics are a tad punny

About to Crash/Losing Time is the best part of the album tho, so it all kinda equals out to a 4
