The dude that talks at the beginning of the album shows up again at the end.

those parts are dumb

also, those 3 floyd albums are infinitely better than those 3 PT albums. it wasn't until SW got off PF's dick did he actually make amazing and unique music

I think JT, Pleb and Nero might agree with you there. One of the few instances where you guys might agree.

I disagree ofc, but whatever.

None of the band have any background in metal so it isnt surprising that it didnt work that well for them

its not even that metal. just some riffs thrown in here and there which for the most part are actually pretty awesome. i mean, theres a few stale metal riffs here and there but there's some stale prog riffs on this and other earlier PT so whatever

i'm talking solely about the metal parts, i think the only time they really work is the crazy double bass part in anesthetize and blackest eyes main riff, mostly every other metal riff is lame as fuck, the best parts of the newer records are the more prog rock parts, such as arriving somewhere

all the riffs in shallow rule. i can kinda agree that some of the riffs are "lame" but only in a metal sense. like, if they were in a metal song it would probably blow, but imo they work really well in PT

like the clean verse sections in deadwing t/t are great but the main riff is like something i woulda wrote when i was 12

not that i necessarily need metal in my PT. LS and SD don't have much at all and i love both of those. i just think he upped his songwriting game hard on SD and kept it up until the incident

i agree stupid dream and lightbulb song had amazing songwriting, and were pretty much pop records but i think the next 3, while still great were a step in the wrong direction

His vocal melodies and layers were at their best on SD and LS
