@Pika Wasn't referring to the post metal, which is kind of its own thing (though ISIS is one of the few metal bands that actually was influenced by Tool ironically, even featuring Justin Chancellor on a song). I mean Voivod, Vektor, Coroner, Kayo Dot, motW, Atheist, Agalloch, Enslaved, Symbolic, etc. Hell, Uroboros by DEG is pretty much a progressive metal record. Obviously a lot of that is prog death/black/thrash but those bands all have strong progressive elements.
