'meh' pretty much sums up this album for me.

Great pop album in my opinion, lacks some of the Floyd identity sometimes though. Marooned is an underrated gem.

I became a stereotype the other day and listened to this album on mushrooms, camping in the middle of nowhere, with a huge star field in front of me. Was...a religious experience.

Ahah, imagine if you had decided to spin a better floyd album then.

Marooned does rule, though.

Ayyy not many comments since then. Listened again last night in an altered state. I see a *lot* of people prefer their older stuff. And while I still need to go back and give DSOTM (I have the vinyl laying around somewhere, never listened!) and The Wall a shot, I still really love what's presented here. It's gorgeous. And...maybe it's just the 2011 remaster but...the production! God! The atmospherics are gorgeous here. And Marooned might be the most emotive instrumental I've ever heard. Just otherworldly. Love it.

Back in May, that was my first time on mushrooms, and it may have been the picture-perfect best-case-scenario. In the woods away from any people or noise or light pollution (relatively), with a field + large vista in front of us of a river and city far below and away. Massive starfield, just brilliant. Watched the ISS and comets fly over us. While this album blasted from a very high-quality bluetooth speaker into vast open air. Completely and utterly euphoric, and probably one of the most memorably-pleasant and moving experiences of my life. So this album specifically will also hold a very special place in my heart out of sentimentality.

I advise you to listen to those vinyls you have lying around. The albums you mention are among PF's best and most mindblowing.
