Dreams of insurmountable fame and valuable chains;
Spit so much I drowned before the drought ever came
And that's the shit that never leaves you
Every line you rhyme leads back to cats that teach you

I think his lyrics are underrated because the ones that immediately jump out are stupid but then the more you listen the more the gems shine

"I let the serpents that I worship underneath the surface murder me
Preferably refer to me as king, I move vertically"

I definitely wouldn't call his work underrated - underappreciated maybe

at this point I'm pretty confident this is one of the best rap albums I've ever heard. I actually don't know if there's ever been an album in my entire life that I listened to so much in such a short span of time after it came out. maybe the last Sweet Trip?

I’m not normally one to call out a hook but lyrically it doesn’t get much better than:
Bitch I’m morose and lugubrious, I’ma let the uzi spit, turn his face into gooey shit

Around the time this album was released, I saw LUM play a small bar in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was a great, intimate show. I really loved the guy at the time. After the show, I checked out the merch table. They had t-shirts with a small LUM logo on the upper-left front side of the shirt. I asked the guys manning the table what I thought was a reasonable question, particularly given the exorbitant price of the shirts: "Is there anything on the back?" And they proceeded to ridicule me mercilessly. "Like what a giant skull?" "Or, or, a naked chick riding huge boner?" And they continued on like that between each other, laughing uproariously, even as I wandered away. That experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

holy shit yeah it would to the same for me for sure, I love LUM but how he acts on IG I can kind of see that being a normal occurrence

how he acts on social media? not sure what you mean by that. he seems very genuine and nice. he either had shit friends when this came out over 10 years ago now, or the merch people were just roadies/gig workers.
