Sure thing. A positive, non-fanboy-ish review of it would be welcome.

Don't worry, I haven't 5'ed it, and I think I've been fair in my criticisms where they're due, but as a long-time fan, this was the album I always hoped they'd make post CoE, and have always been met with varying degrees of disappointment.

Yeah, I prefer WTF, CoE and Nightmare (always dug this one a lot) over the new one at the moment, but I've only jammed it once while the others received a lot more spins over the years.

i wonder if their new album will actually be any good unlike everything else theyve ever released

Syn is incredible on the new album
Shadows really holds it back imo. This is definitely a weaker album of his, which prevents it from being on the nightmare, coe, wtf tier. It's still pretty solid

I'm on my 6th listen, proofreading as I go...
I don't think I've even listened to HTTK 6 times in total - so fucking dull.

Aha, way too safe, but I enjoyed it enough to give it a low 3.
Synyster Gates has always been the best part of this band since he joined.

"Wonder what goes through yr brain when you choose yr stage moniker to be synyster gates"
Love how that's not even the worst one of their stage names, as one of them is literally called johnny christ

If I was staff, new one would be a HARD 4.3 for me, and I will definitely put that on the review, 4.5 can come across a bit too much too soon!

At the time probably 'I'm 18, it sounds cool, we're playing sloppy metalcore, I'm not expecting to do this when I'm 35...'

Once played a Syn custom model schester. Surprisingly played really really nice. Pickups werent horrendous either. Oddly enough when i demoed it i didnt play any a7x songs

Honestly the Schecter Syn Custom is a great guitar, and even though the body shape looks odd its surprisingly comfortable.

Guitar is very nice yes. The only thing I did was hit harmonics and pull the whammy bar up really hard because it has that floyd rose thing on it
|
| |
wow this is at a 2.3 how generous

yea i might buy one. of course that comes with the unfortunate association with a7x

Well I know the body is different, but if you want one of his guitars that doesn't scream Avenged Sevenfold you could take a look at this.
