People don't like this?? I am seriously surprised!
Everything Noisia touches becomes pure gold (those god awful KoRn songs being the only exception) and this dark, sub-driven grime-fest is yet another example.
Granted, Make Those Move was misleading in presenting us with a preview of what the album was gonna be like, but by god did this album leave an impression on me. Jelly Fish, Dust Descends, Powerplay and Foil are awesome tracks!
As for the short, interval tracks, I was personally a huge fan of the creative interval tracks on Split the Atom, ESP Leakage, Whiskers and Paper Doll.
I Am Legion may have gone overboard with the number of interval tracks on the album, but the quality hasn't depleted in any way.
I get the feeling that people leaned negatively with this album because 1. there's not much 'classic Noisia' on it and 2. it has a few trap songs.
Don't get me wrong, I hate trap as much as the next neurofunk head, but you can't deny that songs like Choosing For You are a lot more interesting than the average trap song. It is Noisia after all.
There isn't a moment on this album where there isn't something interesting going on. Although the album isn't what people expected, it's always great to see Noisia try new things, cuz more often than not, they end up nailing the fuck out of it!

1. there's not much 'classic Noisia'
Wasn't exactly much "classic Noisia" on Split The Atom either, but that didn't stop people from loving it so that point is kind of moot
I don't get why people try and come up with x amount of reasons why someone should love something. Like it's cool and all that you really enjoy this, but some don't. And it might not be because there's a trap song, or Noisia aren't being Noisia on this album, or any other of a thousand different reasons. They might just not like it because they didn't think it was very good
I am one of those people

My World, Hand Gestures, Sunhammer and Stigma are classic Noisia. Dust Descends is probably the only full on Noisia song on IAL.
I just don't buy the fact that the average Noisia fan will think less of this album (that's the impression I'm getting from this chain of comments anyway).
There's this inevitability that fans of a group will eventually complain about 'these guys have been spiralling downwards a lot recently' and various negative reactions to a change in style or sound, claiming the group have 'sold out' or some rubbish. Not to say there aren't groups who clearly lose their touch after a while, but I genuinely expected positive reactions from reviewers after I listened to the album.
Before you say it, I do realise this is still based on me thinking something is great and expecting other people should too.
So you're absolutely right, there's no point in arguing about something as subjective as music. I would just be pretty irritated if people were laying into a band for silly reasons.

Music is subjective, but it isn't so subjective that people can't sometimes predict whether or not an album will be well received.
I predicted that Noisia fans would love IAL. Either I'm the only one who genuinely likes it (no-one else here seems to), or people are being unfair on the group.

I can take or leave the rest. Disappointing

Hot damn, was this album really that bad for you guys? It's not the best thing in the world. Some songs I don't really enjoy, like Upper Ratio. But this has some intense songs on it.
