Absolute classic! One of my favorites from the 90's. Such chill and zen music here! I like Portishead's other stuff, but not as much as this. "It Could Be Sweet" is one of my favorites on the record!

I like how they didn't make this album twice, but I do wish i heard more stuff like "Pedestal"

"I like how they didn't make this album twice, but I do wish i heard more stuff like "Pedestal""
I agree with you. They evolved and made some changes to their writing techniques every time they put a record out! And yes more songs in similar to "Pedestal" would be great as well!

Can't say I'm a big fan of their others works though. I prefer the stuff from the recent Trip hop/r&b wave

I'm not too familiar with any sort of modern age music. It just doesn't really interest me that much. Oh, ChoccyPhilly, your "Stonking great tits!!!" picture is outstanding haha!

Ever finish an album and feel like you never even listened to it?
I can't tell if it's the album or the mood I'm in, but this album made me feel like that.

Listen to this while in my red light dungeon of pervisities and you'll understand it.

Honestly, I think it might be my mood more than the album, I've been so off today. Even when
I was hanging out with my friend earlier he said I was being a bit weirder than usual.
I'll give it a relisten tomorrow.

The music, the production, the lyrics, her voice, her personality, and the atmosphere are all
just fucking gorgeous and well put together. At the same time, it's somber and moody in the
best of ways. Hell, I might be in love with this album upon 2nd listen.

Seriously, Beth Gibbon's vocals are like everything I loved about Jennifer Charles on Lovage's album, but like 50 times better.

You should really check Live at Roseland, Beth sounds perfect live
