the only thing that sucks about ff7 is its translation, which is admittedly really awful

no i'm saying people who played it as a child have an easier time immersing themselves in the game, the same reason that pokemon thread has people saying gen 1 + 2 of pokemon > other gens tho by any actual objective analysis that's bs (particularly gen 1 which was actually quite awful)

it's true of every game but more so for ff games, that doesn't mean there's no appeal without this type of immersion tho

eh, i haven't found that to be the case. otherwise i would have found a game made past 2001 to be enjoyable

nah that's personal taste, i think video games are shitty entertainment as a medium. if i'm gaming with friends i'd rather do something else. if i want a good story i'd rather watch a good television series where i don't have to worry about shitty gameplay getting in the way of the story. and if it's a challenging game where i'm improving my game, well tbh i'd rather spend that that time playing piano or guitar

*exceptions exist tho. super smash bros is awesome in groups and pokemon is a good timekill when i'm on a plane, or in a car, etc.
