Album Rating: 2.8

Divisive rockers 30 Seconds to Mars strive to become the biggest band in the galaxy on 4th LP 'Love Lust Faith + Dreams'. A concept album broken up into 4 sections, this grandiose record instrumentally focuses on synth & string arrangements rather than guitar rock. Co-produced by Steve Lillywhite, the LP begins well, but the trio's want to experiment results in the 2nd half being more miss than hit. Jared Leto's vocals continue to impress, although his lyrics often fall flat. Ultimately, there's some great ideas here, but 'LLF+D' has too many flaws to be pronounced a success. Recommended Tracks: Up in the Air, City of Angels & Northern Lights.

their self titled is excellent.

Do you know, I was listeining to the s/t a few days ago, and in an interview a few month ago someone asked if the band name was related to space; Jared replied with "no, it's a symbol" or some shite like that.

Listen to the s/t album though, and I'd say well over 2 thirds of the album is spaced related/themed.

Jared: bullshitter.

I like some of the songs off This Is War and A Beautiful Lie, but this album is embarrassing...even for Jared Leto.
