sorry man im just pissed. i feel like im turning into one of those "all new music sucks" people who i always used to make fun of, but the only album this year ive really gotten into was the new voivod, and even then, if i get in a voivod mood ill just listen to their old shit. so when i hear so many reviews calling this some killer fuckin record and i listen to it and dont dig it im like damn
and dude just look at my ratings i listen to a ton of shit. not just to be "cred" either

Ha ha. I like what I like. I don't try to pretend that I didn't love the last Killswitch album or that I never even bothered with Iron Maiden before 3 weeks ago (thanks to Sonic). I also only like the post-Chris Barnes Cannibal Corpse and that the new Alexa Borden album is better than almost any metal album to be released this year. People get mad at that, I guess ;)

There are some great things coming out now. They might not have the same vibe and feel as the 80s and 90s stuff, but it's still good. Why can't we like both the old and new Metallica or the old and new Slayer, etc?

Sometimes only an old album will work, but if I'm not craving a specific old album by a band then I'll throw on their newest just to give it some more time.
