I don't know how many times I have to say that there's no reason to think that it wouldn't help. It might it might not, but why not try?

No, everyone who cuts probably hasn't tried thatbut you made a blanket statement that said itI might work. Please stop trying to put words in my mouth.

I've worked in an entirely holistic mental health facility in North Texas, and a traditional mental health facility here in Georgia. Neither one boasts an honorable win-loss recordbut i,I have seen more success with the latter.
And really, again, why try something that doesn't treat the problem at it's most basic form? Why waste money and time on herbal supplements that don't treat the problem in the first place? How many times do I have to say that? If someone has a mental block that prevents them from seeing life in a different way, an herbal supplement will not work. They do not alter brain chemistry. Jesus man, ever heard of reading comprehension?

The problem might not be what you think is. You can't rule out the possibility that it might help them. Before modern medicine and antidepressants they used herbs to help and guess what, it helped. There's no reason to dismiss it and say it won't work. It might not be ideal but it could and might help them. If they don't have a "mental block" and it's something else it could help better them your treatment. You just don't know.

Lol you're missing the part again where I have solid personal proof and experience that they don'twork, and how could you say it worked when they were constantly throwing people in dungeons and jails for not being right in the head? Lol. I mean, dude, with that last comment you just proved you have no idea what you're talking about. Just stop.

How the fuck did this thread become about illness and treatments?
Also, the sheer ignorance and simplistic reductionism ITT is staggering.
"The problem might not be what you think is."
No fucking shit, Watson. That's an inherent issue of psychology and treatment of psychological (or health) issues in general.
"You can't rule out the possibility that it might help them."
Of course I can. Just like I can rule out the possibility that peppers are going to do jackshit against cancer. Or that not eating [insert random anything] will magically turn you into a fit person with a great physique.
"Before modern medicine and antidepressants they used herbs to help and guess what, it helped."
Which is completely irrelevant because the way herbs have been used has absolutely zero impact on treating neurochemical impairments. Not to mention the guess work nature of that kind of medicine and the fact that historically speaking, they just ostracized sick people.
"There's no reason to dismiss it and say it won't work. It might not be ideal but it could and might help them."
Yes, there are reasons to dismiss it. A lot of reasons, actually. They come in forms of actual scientific proof. And most froms of "alternative medicine" are either inferior or ineffective due to the fact that it's a gigantic business.
"If they don't have a "mental block" and it's something else it could help better them your treatment. You just don't know."
See above. At this point we can make pretty reliable predictions on what has a potential to work efficiently in a given context and what doesn't.

Both of you don't know what you're talking about.
"and how could you say it worked when they were constantly throwing people in dungeons and jails for not being right in the head?"
That's hogwash.
"Which is completely irrelevant because..."
You're right evidence you can look up is irrelevant. Totally.
"has absolutely zero impact on treating neurochemical impairments"
You do realize there is other causes for depression that can be treated with herbs and natural drugs right? Even if it doesn't treat the source outside factors can contribute to the depression and make it worse, factors that can be corrected with herbs.
Anyone that knows about the history of mental disorders would know I'm right.
I'm not going to be debate this shit with know it alls that are willfully ignorant.

Dude, once again, how am I ignorant when I've seen it first hand, and not just once, but almost every day for 2 years.
