this band used to have a better live act, their vocalist acts like a rock star now instead of doing the really intense introverted thing he used to do. i'm glad he's having fun but i used to consider him one of the most intense performers i had ever seen and i definitely wouldn't say that anymore.

he used to look almost like he was completely unaware that there were other people in the room and stare really intensely at nothing. the first time i saw them he was screaming so hard his shirt was covered in saliva. it was crazy. he's still intense but now it's a more normal kind of intense, just crowd surfing and stuff.

yeah i saw them on monday night and it wasn't like that at all, although it was their "homecoming" or whatever, playing back in sf on the last day of the tour. it was still awesome though. title track sounds so good live.

That pretty much sounds like the performance I saw just a couple weeks ago. I thought his performance was great.

There are parts of the intro to Vertigo that are actually pretty sweet but overall it is certainly the weakest of the actual songs on the album. Dream House -> Irresistible -> Sunbather is obviously the best stretch on the record but The Pecan Tree is a solid standalone trrack and its outro is fantastic.
