How many records come out with hype and drop in rating/opinion in just weeks/months? This album had a 3.8 average at one point. It's one of very few records that I enjoy more and more with each listen and while many said this wasn't a true return to form, I'd say this is on par with Rated R and Songs for the Deaf now.

I Appear Missing is SOTY but their best song is probably Better Living Through Chemistry or Someone's In The Wolf

The Homme will probably take it to a completely different direction.

I think the worst thing they could do from here is pull a 180 and go back to a more stoner rock sound.

Yeah and that's not to say that they don't kill it when it comes to stoner rock, but given how huge of a progression this album is, there's no going back

For sure. But I'm not sure they'll ever deliver another album that's such a complete package as this one.

agreed, nothing bad to say about their stoner rock albums, but it would be hilarious to go back to that

imo.

I don't think they'll go back to stoner rock. A genre dominated by poor production and heavy reverb, I think they'll keep on progressing in the same direction.
