Im having trouble inside my skin

I try to keep my skeletons in

Ill be a friend and a fuckup, and everything

But ill never be...anything you ever want me to be

Yeah some of my favorite lines ever in that song.

srry it kinda just feels to me like they dialed up the Springsteen influence to "pure imitation" on that song and it just comes off as kinda cheap and it's too damn slow but oh well. I'm sure doof has several paragraphs reasoning of why I'm wrong using empirical evidence from the 90s and facts about Berninger's mental health :D

Undervalued tune, was their best 'slowly' when I saw them live

Nebraska is decent, listened to it a couple of times last week - never sat through the whole album before.

I'll pick up a cheap copy of it some time, it's the one Springsteen album I should own, I get that

Ehhhh there are some duller tracks in here. Not saying they are bad, but are not as good as the rest.

I think this is their second most consistent behind HV, though I think Boxer is a bit better than this overall (its best songs are a bit better).

And yeah I am in the "Slipped is amazing" camp.

Lol just to confuse things I think Boxer is their most consistent (quality wise), Trouble their best overall and High Violet has the most unified atmosphere

Songs like Demons, Fireproof, Humiliation, and Hard to Find keep this from surpassing Alligator as 3rd best
