Heavenfaced is the weakest song in the National's 4 album run for me :/ I have grown to love it though

That would be Squalor Victoria. It is a good track but of all the tracks in their last 4 albums, it is the one I am most tempted to skip.

i have to disagree there as i think Boxer is one of very few truly perfect albums

Agree on all points. It does suffer a lot from being sandwiched right in between 6 of the band's strongest tracks.

Despite Squalor, I still think it is perfect. It is a bad track. Just weaker than the rest of the album.

I am TOTALLY undecided between those two albums! Also, those two songs are great. HV is my personal favorite though.

I wouldn't say Boxer is perfect, but for me it certainly is their best record. Honestly I'm still waiting for an album of theirs that is worth a 5.

"this one was definitely the longest to grow on me"[2]

I never thought it would ever be higher than a 4 the first time I listened to it

I mean, I totally love those 4, but in all of them there's something that ruins the 5 for me. For example The Boxer, which is my favorite one, contains Squalor Victoria a track that is really weak, Alligator has Looking for Astronauts which I can't stand. High Violet on the other hand, has Little Faith which I don't dig that much and this record has Slipped which I find kind of boring.

I get not liking Squalor but Little Faith is my favorite National track. Looking for Astronauts is brilliant too

I love every single one of those ones you said were weak so I don't see where you're coming from but to each his own.

Yeah I guess that I'm the one with hearing problems, but what can I do... It is that way for me.

Yeah, I'm not going to deny that it has awesome drumming, but I find it boring.

Yeah I absolutely adore the drumming in Squalor Victoria. I don't know why people so often pick it out as a weak track.
