Eh, it conveys the tone and it's pretty solid, good music, but it can drag and has little replay value, so I feel like that balances out to a 3.5 on this one.

I tried to weigh it out with the detractions at the end, at least, hah.

I think it's quite solid for a prog metal album, but it has absolutely no replay value for me. I don't actually mind listening to it as background music and such.

"The vocals are terrible, i was looking forward to this being good"

Then listen to the instrumental version of the album.

You get both versions when you buy the album.

I agree with this not having much replay value, but the last two parts of Bathyalpelagic are fucking great. Tons of replay value there.

The vocals on Precambrian and Fluxion are awesome. I'm surprised you hate them because they're generally really liked especially since it's an assortment of different vocalists.

The two (three?) songs I heard only had one vocalist iirc

I didn't particularly like them, the harsh vox, they didn't seem very blood pumping just kinda forced
and annoying

Do you remember if it was the first disc or the second? The second disc on Precambrian is where they really shine through.

Yeah, I wouldn't really worry too much then. I'm not a huge fan of the vocals on the first disc but I love them on the second part of the album. However, on the second part you also don't hear them that often.

So it's more instrumental?

Good, I love the instrumentation that I heard

Really long album tho, so I doubt i'm gonna be able to digest it well for a while

Part 2 is a lot of instrumental work. I think two songs on their are also purely instrumental with no vocals at all if I'm not mistaken.
