Actually I'm pretty sure you can do it with ratings as well, considering my rating of this is 4.2 right now :P

you can only do it on album ratings and now when you submit/resubmit a review your rating's changed to w/e your review's rating was. hence your 4.2, otherwise i don't think you can rate in .1 increments for any ol' album rating.

anyways i did this for my last 6 reviews or so, they ended up changing the reviews to the nearest .5 but maybe since you guys are contrib they'll be more lenient

The mastering on this is too damn noisy... The first song literally sounds like a wall of noise. Disappointed with this release because of that reason. I really think this could've been a lot better if the mastering was more dynamic.

Agreed production in general was better on their last 3 or so albums

I hear ya. I'm sure that approach caters to some people's taste. It just doesn't work for me, as I've always enjoyed Amorphis' cleaner execution.

Yeah, I enjoy anything abrasive like that. That's one of the reasons that Nattens Madrigal by Ulver is my favorite extreme metal album ;]
