agreed, but some parts have a huge "wall of sound" approach that is just amazing, like the chorus of Ashes or the drum and keys in Used

Ashes is so dark it's incredible, but I still feel it's a bit distant, especially the bass.

actually if you get past the production, which some find it bad, this is one of the few prog metal albums that manages to be so heartfelt and humane in both musical and lyrical planes
