Yeah this is still a really good album. Probably just about in my top 5 Dylan albums.

Top 5 Dylan should be a 5 though.

He's one of my favourite artists but I only have one Dylan 5.

Blood, Highway, Bringing, Blonde, and Freewhelin are all 5s to me.
|
| |
Bringing It All Back Home and Blonde on Blonde are really close to being 5's. Highway isnt as close. Freewheelin' isn't anywhere near a 5 for me. I actually have a review almost finished for Freewheelin' which I'll probably post tomorrow.

Dang. Basically every 60's era Dylan is a 4.5 or higher for me except for the debut lol. I don't like to talk about the 80's era, though.

Freewheelin' suffers from having too much filler imo. It does have some of his best songs though.

Isis is simply one of the greatest songs ever. Whole album is incredible though

Indeed. "One More Cup Of Coffee" is one of Dylan's first songs that clicked for me.
|
| |
I'm not crazy about One More Cup of Coffee personally, it's good but I don't love it like I do Sara or Isis for example. I only really love 5 songs on here but those 5 are up there with some of his very best. Although I wouldn't say even those rival the likes of Idiot Wind or any of the best songs from Blood on the Tracks.

excellent release, but it suffers from most of the songs being reaaaaaaaally overlong. The melodies are well-crafted, the arrangements unique; the only skippable tracks for me are "Romance In Durango" and "Black Diamond Bay". The former is rather generic spanish...romance, while the latter doesn't lead me anywhere emotionally.
|
| |
Black Diamond Bay is easily one of the best on here.
With the exception of Joey, which does overstay its welcome as it's not that strong lyrically, the length of the longer songs on here is necessary due to their lyrical content. Hurricane and Black Diamond Bay aren't overlong in any way.
