There is no right or wrong reason to like or dislike an album. If he doesn't like it because he is atheist and he finds the subject matter stupid that is no less right a reason than rating something a five because it hit you just right after a break-up or whatever. There is no nuance, you are just trying to judge what is a right or wrong reason to hate something, which you have no right to.

No. You either like an album based on whatever criteria you have for liking something or you don't like something based on whatever criteria you have for disliking something. If you're seriously leading with the notion of universally objective criteria (as a given state, not something to strive for which would still be a decision and not an obligation) then not being able to elaborate upon that only reinforces the notion that you don't have any point besides your own bias.

I don't have a problem with you, just with some of the things you say. And yes, there's quite a difference.
