I respect you having an opinion that isn’t typical, yet I cannot understand it myself. I guess this is very different, but to my ears it just sounds like a messy, self-indulgent and failed experiment.

every single shoegaze/dream pop band ever has a song that sounds exactly like Myrkur on their first EP

true.
album's p fucking cool considering the time, just all over the place. the ambient/experimental songs have some "wow" moments, but overall are rather meh and just disjointed/schizo. they never really sucked me into the album, moreso just left me feeling nothing. however it's been fucking years since i've listened to this so who knows it might've grown
the gazey songs are pretty ace tho. tracks 3, 5, and 7 are huge take aways imo.

it's a bit of a mish mash of styles and the production seriously lets it down in places but it's honestly pretty interesting overall and some of the ambient stuff can get kinda dark, particularly the one that's just straight up called Sigur Ros, wish they did a little more with that sound
|
| |
they do a bit on some of their comps like variations of darkness and liminal sleep, not as dark tho
