'If he is the god of /p then what are all the other prog'ers that came before him not to mention being vastly better than him?'

A) I was joking, obviously

B) he is the master of modern prog, regardless

"while Marco Minneman goes nuts with his pedal and crash symbol."

That would be "crash cymbal". Otherwise, a great review for a great album.

I really hadn't herd of Steve Wilson until I herd the Storm Corrosion album and I loved that. I've yet to dive in to the Porcupine Tree body of work mainly because It's fairly large and I don't know where to start, but now I'm thinking I'll pick this up first then back track.. Persuasive review my fiend.

Prog can be a monumental shower of shit at times but this is sensational.

Devin Townsend, mostly because he can actually do other things as well as make some of the best modern prog

I think "The Pin Drop" is an amazing track. Never heard Wilson's voice in that light. Almost like a John Anderson feel. It blew my mind, and still does. Album is gold.

yeah, Townsend is really the only other dude who compares in terms of prolificness and a consistently good/varied discog.

The music is excellent. This guys vocals make me feel like my balls are shrinking.

Way better than Porcupine Tree though.

Really digging this so far, but personally, I prefer his Porcupine Tree stuff. But that's just me. The only thing Steven has put out that I'm not a fan of is Storm Corrosion.

I don't know if it's better then porcupine tree but is better for sure than their others solo albums. More music. Not just mellotron and effects. :P
