It's all good. I understand how someone could not like it (it does drag a little). Do you agree it kinda sounds like Tesseract or am I insane? lol

You're right. Tesseract or any other 'djent' band. They make it more interesting though by including synths.

and I like Sunbound too haha. I'd say the two I'm not too much a fan of are Equilibrium and Heretic Martyr.

“Moth to the Flame” sounds rather uninspired incorporating plenty of pop-inclined melodies to tepid effect. “Vindication” is built around an enticing, industrialized groove, yet the song just lasts too long for its own good. Elsewhere, the blatant deathcore of “Sunbound” seems like a natural expansion of the act's peripheral influence on paper. In reality, it's the least cohesive track that additionally feels completely out of place in the record's more atmospheric latter half. (c)

what??? these three are the most standout songs on this album. If it`s not Moth to the flame, Vindication and Sunbound, there will be nothing to listen. I mean album overall good, but not without these songs. They deliver dark atmosphere of album on 200%, and it`s even good that one of them with deathcore influence, second is poppy, and last one is true prog. It`s what I call - variety.

@1SecondToDie:

It's definitely variety, but still I don't think these tracks are very well executed. Granted, Moth to the Flame has grown on me, but Vindication should be much shorter while Sunbound... Well, let's say I'm not a huge fan of deathcore. Anyway, mind you it's only my subjective opinion.

I don't think it sounds like Deathcore. I think it sounds more like a Mastodon song with black metal screams and a djenty bridge. I don't really hear the deathcore in it. I understand how can not like though. Like you said, opinions.

I love Vindication also but I agree that Moth To The Flame is not that great.

I really love this album! But unlike the reviewer I really enjoyed listening to Moth to the flame. In my opinion the best song in the entire album. The lyrics are great en the tune stayed in my head for weeks. Good review btw.

Good musicianship, catchy right off the bat. Downside is that it offers all it has right off the bat and gets boring fast.

Wow no comments since 2013! I got some intense nostalgia for a period of time that I linked to listening to this album, but then couldn't for the life of me remember the artist name. Had to ho into last.fm and scrub through month by month til I find it. Here's to seeing if this still holds up!
