I listen to Side A (Bossalinis->Chuch) the most of any record in my collection. Perfect suite.

ninjedit The rest of the album is played out in groups of four, which does a lot of good for the flow. And also, weirdly, the album's themes. Side C begins with Vegetables and ends with Chosen, effectively setting up the group's dynamics as a duo and their held beliefs in the power of youth and taste (more on that ~later~) on the album's riskiest (does it work? no? fuck you?) beat, transitioned into the album's crossover platinum cloud-rap track with A$AP Rocky, who was at this point, just as green (Rocky will go on to quote Squadda B on his own label debut this year, which imo says a good bit about the boys' influence on those they manage to speak to on a level that can't really be articulated; see: Danny Brown, me, .L.W.H.). The song is about earning your moment, not outside influence but far within it: their put downs are not at other rappers, but weak-willed assholes who talk shit without recognizing their own shortcomings, or doing anything about it (which is why I love these guys so much, they balance bravado typical of their age with ageless wisdom: "I don't think the world can relate / to my surprise everyone does / so have faith"). They speak so well on the subject of an individual's station that they allow themselves the freedom to work within the Main Attrakionz moniker without the other, following "Take 1" with two solo tracks credited to each respective artist that speak to the traits they bring and why it all works together.
