so this still rules
|

Of course.
|

it needs more love though! seriously this album is awesome
|
| |
Yeah, probably in my top 5 Dylan albums.

Totally dig this album, the little bass groove that goes through the whole album is great, very under-appreciated, when it came out i don't think people knew what to make of it. He always made the scene, when everybody was going from folk to electric blues, he was already done with that and moving back to county bluegrass kind of stuff, it would only be a few years till he started to make bad albums on purpose, to take the pressure off.

mayzin album

Album Rating: 4.5
not sure why this is rated so low, should be up there with the best of Dylan, first change of style from the whimsical psych albums of Hwy 61, blonde on blonde, etc, stripped down simpler lyrics (for Dylan) , better groove. One of the best and most prolific songwriters in music history, these songs are intentionally more basic lyrically but miles ahead of anybody else

I'd say despite churning out some absolute rubbish he's the best of all time.

prob. hwy 61, or freewheelin'
|
| |
Yeah freewheelin is up there for me. They chop and change. Blonde on Blonde is more often than not number 1 for me though.

sad eyed lady is sweet, flops for me to, but come back to those 2, really like desire as well, that is pretty underrated
|
| |
Yep love that as well. Basement Tapes, Blood on the Tracks, when 70s Dylan was good he was the best but nothing can touch folky 60s pioneer Dylan.

no they cant 64-67 is prime D
|

Other than JT and a few other odds and sods chipping in Bob doesn't get a look in around here. It's distressing.

I try to push it, but lyrical music in general seems to be over the heads of many of the youngins around here

Masters of War lyrics are something else.
When was that released '63? In comparison to what else was happening musically people's minds must have imploded listening to that back in the day. Absolutely fucking sensational.
|
| |
Masters of war is one of the best Dylan songs, if not the best song he's ever written. It's funny u mention it because I wrote a throwback Thursday post about that song yesterday that I couldn't post with the site issues, probably still gonna post it today when I get to work though
