This album to me isn't about songs at all, it's all just one big fifty-minute experience. Sure you can single out tracks as your favourite but that's missing the point by a wide margin. Same as DSOTM, its ten tracks that *can* work out of context but in context make way more sense. If you try approach either album the way you normally digest music you'll end up calling half of it "filler"

Yeah I can't listen to most of these songs on their own and have them effect me the same way they do in the context of the album. They're just so perfectly placed and everything flows so smoothly

Exactly, I do have my fave moments on this but have to listen to it all. Its one big sweeping piece of music.

Man I listen to this the exact same way I listen to Dark Side Of The Moon, I just let it twist and turn and wash over me

I could easily take out several songs from that (including the last 2 which is probably my favourite part of Floyd's discog) and listen to them by themselves and still enjoy them. it's flow is pretty perfect though.

I still find this much easier to listen to the whole way through than DSOTM, party because this is a 5 and the DSOTM just barely isn't

Yeah Dark Side has more "normal" songs than this one (Time, Money, Brain Damage), but I still prefer them as part of the album. They're both like movies, you can get a kick out of individual scenes but all that'll do is make you want to watch/listen to the whole thing.

I think I 5'd Dark Side, I'll go look (probably more like a 4.5 for me)

Yeah I did, 4.5 seems too harsh but a 5 seems too flattering. God damn it

lol. It's a really high 4.5, probably is a 5 honestly but I already have WYWH and Animals 5'd and 3 5's for 1 band makes you look fanboyish.

Plus I just think those albums are just plain better

I still think Time and Great Gig are the two best songs they ever did (not to mention they're back to back), and make Dark Side my fave Floyd album. I have all three Mr. Bungle albums 5'd haha, if that makes me a fanboy then GOOD

Though I do feel Kid A gets way too much praise for what it is.
