Good review with one nitpick: "avant-garde" isn't a genre unto itself.
Thanks for reading, man. I dont know if it's a "definitive" genre, but it is as a recognized term/style (for example, there's avant-garde Jazz). It's just a fancy way of saying "experimental"/"unconventional". Also, I felt there was no other way to describe this. But if more people tell me to change it then I'll change it. But again thank you for the comment.

This album is like a complete twist and mockery of what people think of and expect from him. Amped up humor for those that missed it his previous work (and crude humor at that), guitar riffs, profanity and even shouted vocals (which in the 90s he said would be an excess of emotion)
The album has a very murky, dirty, gross and even goofy quality to it. I expect it to be pretty divisive.
I've only listened to it in full twice so far so I can't really say that I've fully formed an opinion, but it grows on me the more I hear. The momentum of the album seems to drop a bit after Epizootics, but that in no way means it's bad. Heck, that opinion could change soon as well. "Corps De Blah" also feels a little scrambled and tossed together, but the quality of the individual parts make up for it just fine.
This would be an interesting way for him to end his career, and certainly not a bad one.

Yeah, the album's actually very catchy in an odd way. That's one thing I find impressive about his later work; for all of the strangeness and lack of conventional lyrics or melody, it's actually full of little hooks.
