most of what i've seen on here in discussions has been that Diamond Eyes is infinitely better than this, and I wasn't trying to make a point, I only brought it up because I just recently listened to both albums.

This album is really special to me. Listened to it a lot before moving to California and the songs hold sentimental value to me. But it's a excellent album regardless. Has some of their best songs IMO. Rosemary, gauze, what happened to you, leathers, swerve city are all fantastic.

the highlights on D.E. are some of my favorite Deftones songs (Beauty School, Have You Seen the Butcher?, Sextape, title track)
but i guess the production might have homogenized it a bit? either way, i do like koi no better, but it's easy to underrate Diamond Eyes from a distance - when i actually relisten to the thing i remember why it's as good as it is

Diamond Eyes, Rocket Skates, and Sextape are some of my favorite Deftones songs but yeah idk I just find this more memorable, maybe it's more immediate? Idk thinking of giving D.E. some more listens because I have been listening to this a lot lol
