I have "Welcome to the Machine" on the computer. It's neat, and creepy.

As far as prog rock this is a good effort. I really dont care for progressive rock and on a whole Pink Floyd is much more than a progressive rock band. I like other Floyd albums better but this is overall decent.

that would put me to sleep so much faster. (i mean that in a good way, it's a great mellow song)

WYWH is, after ANIMALS obviously, PF's best work. I'm not so keen on Machine (bit droney, lyrics a bit pedestrian) or Cigar (bit too slow and meandering), but the title track is blissful, and SOYCD is possibly the best Floyd song ever.

I've really got into this album now. Personally, this is my favourite album by Floyd (great review as well), and I would advise anyone who is a music fan to get this. There isn't a song on here that I would give less than 4.5/5, and while both parts of Shine on You Crazy Diamond are amazing, the best song on here has to be Wish You Were Here. Lyrically and musically this is a perfect song, and may well be the best thing the band ever recorded. In my opinion this is a perfect album, so seriously, just check it out.

You appear to have a Lou Reed avatar and a Zappa-related usertitle. Unless this is not the case, you are displaying a radical contradiction.

i love this album i listen to it more often than dark side. you forgot to mention the absolutely breathtaking organ work that comes into the song at 6:33. it puts me too sleep everytime i listen to it and makes me dream of purple skies with more than one moon out in a volcanic wateland. you dont have to be wasted on acid or weed or any drug for that matter to be taken to a different place when listening to solos like these (which floyd has so many of) its better than the one in part 2 by far. have a cigar is also amazing i was listening to it and thought "is this a floyd song"? but then the amazing keyboard work straight out've the previous track destroyed my doubts. a good chill song. wicked review by the way
